Now that we’re past the safe period. Phew. Breathe. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
The past 14 weeks have been a roller-coaster of sorts. First learning about the pregnancy was really an amazing surprise. So why not start with the very beginning, before it all becomes a blur.
Kid, if you ever read this we found out during game 1 of the NBA playoffs between the Washington Wizards and the Toronto Raptors. If you haven’t figured this out by now, I am a huge basketball fan, and one day you will be too.
There we were going to the doctor’s office trying to find out why the heck your mom’s pelvis was hurting so much. After I left the doctor and mom to inspect the girly parts, I ventured to the waiting room. I of course was waiting in the waiting area streaming the beginning of the first quarter of the game.
I even thought to myself, “Man I’m glad I brought the headphones, now I can stream with sound!”
About halfway into the quarter I saw your mom walk out booking the next appointment. She looked misty-eyed. Kind of like an anime character with bubbly anime eyes.
That was just the beginning.
The higher seeded Raptors lost game 1, and eventually the rest of the three games in the best of seven series. In a world without the baby madness, I would have been livid and numb by such an epic defeat. But after that day, I realized that nothing can ever be a defeat as I experienced the biggest win anyone can receive.
